At the beginning of our professional career, many of our steps and action models are built based on the experiences of those closest to us or people we admire professionally.
At the beginning of my career, one of the first pieces of advice I received was: “work as if this were yours and you will reap the fruits of your orchard”.
In this article, I want to share my experience and my journey at Ventask, highlighting how my sense of belonging was essential for my progression.
I joined Ventask in 2018, as a Telemarketing operator and followed my mantra “work as if the company were mine”, delivering the best of myself every day.
In my view, “working” means acting with a commitment to delivering results and creatively presenting new solutions. The feeling of satisfaction of being in a motivated work environment, with a cohesive team that feels valued and challenged, defines my biggest parameters of satisfaction in the work environment.
4 tips for having a good work environment
But, after all, what can be done to achieve this work environment that everyone wants to be part of and also contribute to its evolution? I share 4 tips:
- Stay Connected
Stay connected with everything that is happening in the team and create opportunities for improvement. Associating the achievement of personal goals with those of the team is a way of bringing people together, making them feel motivated and, above all, supported! Think about how you can improve metrics – even those that don’t directly concern you.
- Invest in your strengths
A team has people who have professional qualities and defects. However, try your best to enhance your positive points and share knowledge with your colleagues. Sharing knowledge is, without a doubt, the key to cohesion.
- Be cordial
Must respect all employees, regardless of position. In addition to your skills related to the position you currently occupy, you must maintain a good posture and know the right time and content to speak and, therefore, be valued by colleagues and managers.
Don’t let good opportunities pass you by
Within the professional environment, good opportunities are restricted to a limited number of candidates and if you are one of them, don’t be afraid to dedicate yourself to what was offered! You will rarely have the same opportunity again and, therefore, you need to accept it when it is offered. Some of them could be the leap you needed in your career. This way you will also motivate your colleagues to strive for growth.
A new international project
My opportunity arrived in December 2019, with the invitation to join a new international project. Despite the nervousness associated with moving to a new team, with the responsibility of managing clients of different nationalities, I accepted without hesitation!
I started the new challenge and quickly raised internal expectations. With this, the opportunity arose to perform supervisory duties and, for the first time, be responsible for managing my customer support team, an international campaign, with six different nationalities!
In these last few months, I have had the opportunity to develop many skills but, above all, to value my dedication and way of being in life. I am extremely proud of the project we have developed and my main objective is to enhance the feeling of belonging in my team.
We are a community, we work with trust, honesty and creativity. I am sure that, in the near future, we will increase resources, we will be stronger and with new challenges and objectives to achieve!
